State of the SND

Beginning to feel as if this is my own personal blog, but... are we doing dinner this Sunday? Or is SND, like, so 2007?

My assumption was: absolutely

I meant dinner was on, not that SND was over....

Although there's a small chance I won't be in town for SND this week, here are some Smith Street ideas that we haven't visited yet:

Bar Tabac
La Lunetta
Saul

And then in Carroll Gardens
Lucali (like best pizza in all NY or something)
Miriam
Lobo (Mexican, also on 5th Ave, but Court St location has a great big table on the second floor by the window perfect for SND)

O what about that old-school Italian place Kyle wanted to go to, the one that's sort of far down on Court St.? The only one I'd veto is Bar Tabac as am going there tonight.

Hi everyone! This Sunday is the SAG Awards - and while I am more than happy to DVR them and watch after, I'm also happy to invite you all over to watch, since the Globes were a bust. And then the following Sunday is the Super Bowl - which I will definitely be watching at my house and you are all welcome to come. Couldn't be more excited for that game! So let me know what you're all thinking about this Sunday...

That sounds pretty fun actually. SAG awards at your place I mean.

I personally am totally into watching the Super Bowl when that comes around, of course, yes, a must, even though I hate the Patriots and feel so-so about the Giants. (I used to feel sorry for Eli but now I don't so I don't feel anything.) But as for the SAG awards, I'm a bit of a buzz kill. Totally not interested. I'd really like to see everyone out and enjoy each other's company this weekend. But it's cool too if I'm the minority. I support the popular vote.

I am also so freaking sad about Heath Ledger. So so sad.

Apparently I like to repeat myself.

Damn this thing. I just wrote this huge comment and it didn't post.

Long and short of it: Jack - if you and Kyle are here we should all go out for sure. Nathaniel is away.

Love Eli. So sad about Heath and of course we have to deal with all the press calling about The Dark Knight...

Sara said...

So let's go out then. And dedicate the first drink to Heath's memory. Still sort of can't believe that just happened.

Sorry I have been woefully absent from this conversation up til now. The place Sara had mentioned is called Fragole and it's on Court Street and it's delish. My vote is cast!

I am returned. I am going out of town this weekend (yes, again), but I fully intend on making my way back in time for SND. Just tell me where to go.

Claude said...

I'm likely out of town with Brekke and plan to be at dinner too.
Fragole is fine with me.

Can I suggest instead of going to the place that's far down on Court Street this weekend that we try some place a little closer? Nathaniel is out and without a car it's either a very long walk in the cold or pretty pricey car rides back and forth.

Any chance we could do something near/on 5th Ave - like Miriam or Lobo?

Miriam. 7pm.

Except that was me, Jackie, who posted the above, not Kyle. I have great difficulty with this thing.

Sara said...

I had a delightful brunch at Miriam one time, so I have faith their dinners will be tasty too. Let's do it.

Sh-t, why can i suddenly not post (meaning, a new post--how do you post a new post? i was worried that no one would read this, the 21st comment).

I am so, so sadly, committed to a party sunday nite. but i am so, so happy that SND is back up and running after a scary and difficult time around the holidays. Look forward to SB Sun, now that Peter's made a red-blooded Giants fan of me.

My news, since i won't be there Sun, is that I testified before the City Council today on a resolution to repeal the gay ban! I'm cool!

You are cool! And we will miss you on Sunday!
