SND enjoys the last dregs of summer....
There's a delicious place I randomly went to a few weeks ago- Fort Reno BBQ- it was freaking great. Amazing collards and following in our tradition of eating food out of a mason jar: something called THE HOT MESS. Basically a full meal (meat, mac, collards, pickles- in a mason jar.

Sounds great! Looks like rain, so may not have a US Open final to watch, though if we do, I may want to propose that instead.
Well, I DEFINITELY would do that (the Open) but they're almost always in the morning- although with all these delays, who knows?

I am here, though having eaten twice at Hotbird within a week's time I'm a little burned out on BBQ... could we push that one back a week or two? Of course, I have no more helpful suggestion at the ready. Although I'd like to just say wistfully that it would be really nice if, say, new innovative Asian and Indian places would start popping up around our borough with the regularity that the comfort-food-centric ones are.
