I have already begun preparations for tomorrow evening. I'm making lasagna from scratch (including the pasta), and I hope it turns out well. The thing I most excited about, however, is getting to see the stars of Once perform "Falling Slowly" live. Here's a cute item from Sunday Styles on Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.
Until tomorrow, my friends!

On a side musical note: although I've sort of enjoyed taking the wind out of the "Juno" sails, I'm really liking the soundtrack a lot. Is anything nominated from it? Haven't been paying attention...
I think because none of the songs on the Juno soundtrack were created for the movie, it wasn't eligible. Here's the lineup for Best Original Song:
“Falling Slowly” from “Once”
(Fox Searchlight)
Music and Lyric by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
“Happy Working Song” from “Enchanted”
(Walt Disney)
Music by Alan Menken
Lyric by Stephen Schwartz
“Raise It Up” from “August Rush”
(Warner Bros.)
Music and lyric by Jamal Joseph, Charles Mack and Tevin Thomas
“So Close” from “Enchanted”
(Walt Disney)
Music by Alan Menken
Lyric by Stephen Schwartz
“That’s How You Know” from “Enchanted”
(Walt Disney)
Music by Alan Menken
Lyric by Stephen Schwartz
Pasta from scratch!!!!
I hope Kyle and I can make it now. We're up against some rough deadlines. Still I will send the ballots on ahead, just in case.
It may be down to just the three of us, ladies...
I'm afraid the rumors are true--I shall not be making it tonite. And it tears me up (and i'm not just saying that), in part because of the homemade lasagne and Brekke's fireplace, but mostly of course because of you. I haven't seen the movies, I'm exhausted and I have crazy book deadline. Looking very forward to next week, and sorry for the late cancellation.
I emailed a ballot to your personal (or work) emails instead of figuring out how to post it.
I feel terrible too about this last minute cancellation, but my script is due next week, which Kyle is helping me finish so that I can hold my nervous breakdown at bay, and it turns out, his script is also due. It all seems to be happening at once.
I'm still doing my ballot though. Might as well keep up my 10-year tradition of coming in second.
Would have so been so great to be told prior to my 5-hour long cooking spectacular...I've invited other people to come in your place so my time and money won't be for nothing. I understand things creep up, but I wouldn't have done all this if I had even been told with a day's notice.
