We first gathered at Bogota almost one year ago, not yet realizing that we were about to change the world, on June 24, 2007. I am definitely heartened to have been a part of an incredible year of SNDs: the laughs, the tears, the gas, the 3...
So I'm officially asking for SND suggestions for the anniversary. Do we return to the scene of the crime (my preference) and go back to Bogota? Make it our annual anniversary location? Or does someone have an even better idea on how best to mark the moment?
AND LEST WE FORGET OUR PROMISE...

I will totes Bogota it, but I'm also up for upping the ante. That could either mean fancy pants: Po, Frankie's, Grocery... River Cafe??? Oh la la. Or just making it a progressive, like great place for cocktails (Brooklyn Social), then great place for dinner (???), then great place for dessert (ice cream place under the Bridge before it closes at 10pm). OR we could do a Red Hook Day extravaganza: bike ride, followed by early lunch at Red Hook soccer fields, swimming in the Red Hook pool, early dinner at Alma on the roof, final drink of the night at Sunny's.
wow. The Red Hook plan is ambitious, but I like it. Oh, except for the part about having to bike home drunk. Hm.
Jackie - you are very ambitious! My (early) vote would be just to do Alma on the roof. Get there early (5:30?) so we can drink and make sure we get a table outside.
I'm also going to be posting a photo spread on Facebook tentatively titled: Look Back in Hunger: One Year in the Life of SND.
Barack's our nominee! He is speaking now. I can't believe it's actually happened!
Also, quick thought re: this Sunday... what about Kif, the new place in my hood? This is somewhat connected to the fact that I'll be arriving back shortly before dinnertime. But it's also really good. Great cocktails and yummy... Egyptian? Moroccan? some kind of cuisine like that. Anyway, food for thought. Heh.
Per our conversation on Sunday, Check out this Newsweek piece on the sexist criticism of SATC:

May have spoken too soon on making SND this Sunday. My plane actually gets in at 7, not 5 like I thought. So I could try to make it depending on whether I actually get in then and if you're starting at like 7:30... but I would say don't count on me.
Brek and all,
I just realized that Brekke and I are scheduled to be away that weekend of our anniversary-- which may be a non-issue timing-wise, but I'm not sure. Either way, anything before dinner is definitely out for me.
I would place my vote for Bogota for obvious reasons. And to go to a place like Alma to inaugurate the new season. On the other hand, I'm definitely out of town for the following two sundays in LA....which is happy and sad all at the same time.
But Alma sounds lovely. I need to deal with those weekend plans before weighing in any further....
Eveyone's schedule confuses me.
Claude - which 2 weekends are you in LA? and you and brekke may miss june 22 but you're not sure? I now have to work on the 22nd so can make 7pm but not before.
I will be in LA for the 29th and the 6th. No, I think we can probably make to the 22nd but I need to consult with our hosts and the other travelers....
Claude and I cannot make it back for the 22nd. That's such a bummer. There's no way for us to be back (which I didn't think of until Claude pointed it out) in time for dinner. I'm so sorry!
yes, brekke and i just went over all our plans in detail and it just can't happen. Please forgive us! Meanwhile, I'm going to propose that we do a celebratory SND the weekend before?xxooxxoo
So Nathaniel is out on the 15th - so i think we just make every week an anniversary celebration since we won't be al full strength until July 6th at the earliest - maybe not even until Cyclones on the 13th. Anyway -enjoy SND this Sunday and I'll see you next week when I return.
