Thanks for Voting, SND!

I just quit my job this morning, thanks to the support of my fellow SNDers! I will return to who I truly am -- a poverty-stricken gypsy with no ambition and pissy health insurance -- on July 18. (I gave 6-weeks notice.) Thanks again, SND, for supporting a direction-less life!!!

My suggestion for next weekend, since I'm on the blog and all even though it's so early in the week, is Coco Roco, a Peruvian place on Smith Street with a garden in the back: http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/coco_roco/

Holy Shit, you did it! Mazel. I second the suggestion of Coco Roco on Smith Street for Sunday. Woo...

I seem to recall that they serve some kind of yummy toasted pine nuts or something when you first sit down. That's reason enough for me.

oh and congrats on the quit, Jackie!

Yay! I am proud of and psyched for you! Good on choice for this Sunday too!

Well it's probably too late for people to consider this radical proposal, but I thought: how fun would it be for SND to go on a field trip to Greenwich Sunday for SND! I could probably get us free tickets to the Monteverdi concert and it's only 52 mins away. And I know you all read my cultural email with excitement and were trying to figure out how to fit in at least one of the events. Oh, and I can get us into the post-concert pool party... Otherwise, see you all (or some of you) the 22nd.

Radical is right! I love the idea, but I can't totally endorse my participation b/c of work I have to do on Sunday. And the price of gas is a Debbie Downer.

I'm all for being a Debbie Downer because of prices. I've been splashing out waaaaay too much for a humble newspaper journalist lately. I vote for keeping it local.

Um- just one thing: am I crazy or is Coco Roco on 5th ave, not Smith St? Pls advise...

Jackie - didn't we go there for V day that year? How is the weather looking for sunday? About to leave the farmhouse where it is always beautiful!

Sooooo sad about Russert. How will we live through this election without him????

Jackie said...

Russert news is the worst

The price of gas, people?? I'd have sprung for the $2.75 for both Jackie's and Sara's portions. Let's keep Debbie out of this! Will miss you all and look forward to next SND.

So are we confirmed for 7pm at Smith St location?

Maria Shriver looks like an alien. There is something wrong with her eyes.

That was an unbelievably touching hour of meet the press. Anyone else lose it when brokaw broke down???

Sara said...

God! So sad. And to end it with Thunder Road....

Peter said...

Yeah. I lost it again during Thunder Road.

Sorry, Nathaniel. I guess I just should have said, no thank you, in order to avoid your comments in which you addressed me as "people."

Sara said...

Can I just add, grouchily, that it had better not be fucking raining tonight. I was caught in torrential downpours THREE times yesterday, one of which was as I left Coney Island on my bike.

Nate said...

"people" was jackie and sara. yeah, that's what i was getting at--we're all close enough to just say this is what i'm feeling like. sorry if i made you sad. i won't do it again!

You missed the point, Nathaniel. But thanks for the apology.
