Daily Show and Karaoke

Oh My God John Stewart was so brilliant tonight in taking on Mike Hukabee on gay marriage and also his idiotic-sounding new book, "Do The Right Thing" in which he simply says people should treat each other nicer and we'd need less government. Stewart's defense of gay marriage would have brought me to tears if I still had the capacity to cry.

Speaking of which, Sara and I had a summit dinner tonight and she said that, because of my break-up, I could have Karaoke. I'm not sure I should need to break up with someone to get Karaoke and am instead claiming it because I missed last year (and threatened never to drive anyone home from SND again if you did it without me), but I thank Sara for her generosity and am looking very forward to belting out Candle in the Wind on Dec. 21.

Well done Nathaniel and Sara. So shall we finally do KIF, since we def have Sara and we've been trying for ages?

I, too, am very impressed with the Summit Talks. Any way we could eat earlier than normal, say 6 or 6:30pm? I really want to catch the Giants-Cowboys game at 8:15pm, if possible. And Kif sounds great to me!

I'm good with that.

There's a Kyle problemo with an earlier time, I think. His Ravens/Steelers game is at 4:30. Anyway, he'll make the call himself. (Kyle?)

I'm so sorry that Nate and Sara were put in a position in which one had to make a sacrifice. I feel like I (jokingly) facilitated setting up that scenario, so I am especially thrilled that it has been resolved. Although, Sara, big bummer that you won't be there!

The other thought is to go somewhere football friendly. is that dumb?xoxoxo

Sara- i will sing a song of your choice to honor you. Although, Brekke prob should cause she'll sound better.

Side note: who's going to the book party on Saturday?

Jackie said...

I can't attend the book party because I will begrudgingly be hosting a bachelorette party with 10 women I don't know (or don't want to know). And I won't stop whining until it's over.

Brekke and Kyle should work out the details in regards to their football wishes. I will go whenever, wherever.

Sara - do you want to go to book party together?

Did anyone know that Sarah Paulson is the longtime partner of Cherry Jones?

Sara said...

Is that a total non-sequitur, or does it apply to something in this thread? In either case, I did not know that. I did know that Sarah Paulson is hilarious and I want to hang out with her.

I think you guys should just do the earlier meeting. I might have to sit this one out due to football/work/other concerns. I will be ready to rock the karaoke mic next weekend though.

I am going to the book party on Saturday, and I'm okay to meet up at 7pm at Kif, our usual time. Can't wait. See you all there.

Peter and Brekke, want to meet up ahead of time? I'm going to be in the city doing a little last-minute shopping I think.

So Kif at 7pm, right?
Yes, I knew about Sarah Paulson.
I like her but i thought she sucked on Studio 60, which admittedly sucked in general, but I need a scapegoat.
For those of you coming to the book party, come whenever you like. After 7pm, people are migrating to HAlf King, which is right around the corner.
SMALL POSSIBILITY THAT MY DAD MAY BE JOINING FOR SND IF HE NEEDS TO CRASH W ME TOMORROW NIGHT.

IS that okay with everyone? xoxoxox

I also knew about Sarah Paulson.
Great if Paul can come.
Kyle can't come either way, so I think we should honor Brekke's original request and move the time up to 6pm.
Kif.
Hope the book party goes well. Love Half King.

6pm at Kif sounds great.

See some of you at the book party. Will email you separately about details.

We shall now gather at 7pm, usual time.
