I will be flying home from England at 7:25pm (allegedly). Yes, it's optimistic to think I could join you for dinner but you never know--customs had been faster since 9/11 (i'm serious!). So if people are feeling flexible and want to meet at 7:30 or even 8 (ok, ok, 7:30?) in hopes that I can join half way through, that'd be awesome! Someone can text me where you'll be.

I'm in - and with a preference for Bocca Lupa, Los Pollitos,and Soul Spot. But only because those sound delicious right at this moment.
I haven't been to any of those places, and I'm very excited to try Bocca Lupo. Shall we try it?

Another Palin tidbit: this was her response to reporters, regarding the AIG bailout. "Certainly AIG though with the construction bonds that they're holding and with the insurance that they are holding very, very impactful for Americans, so you know the shot that has been called by the Feds — it's understandable but very, very disappointing that taxpayers are called upon for another one," she said.
What the fuck does that mean? That's not even grammatical english!!

Bocca Lupa is pretty inconvenient, but a nice place. Very Brooklyn hip last time I was there. Maybe a little loud?

Actor donates $100,000 to campaign

Brad Pitt has donated $100,000 to the campaign to defeat Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage in the state.
His contribution, the largest so far from a prominent individual in the entertainment business, comes as fund-raising to defeat the measure lags behind that of supporters. Polls suggest the proposition will have a tough time winning a majority, but there has been considerable speculation that dynamics could change once ads are launched in earnest in the coming weeks.
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," Pitt said in a statement.
Pitt’s contribution, to the group Californians Against Eliminating Basic Rights, is seen as a challenge to others in the industry to step up their fund-raising efforts — no easy task as politicians of all stripes court donors in the run-up to the election. In addition to Pitt, others who have chipped in so far include David Geffen, who has donated $50,000, and CAA’s Bryan Lourd, who contributed $5,000.

i love maurice sendak and am up for the slight inconvenience of Bocca Lupa. i actually didnt even know where it was. I vote 7"30pm too cause I have an early am the next day, but I love Nathaniel and hope he comes for part of it.

Well, I for one actually left the house today. Even left Brooklyn. Now I am exhausted and at home napping. That's where I've been. Tonight I will likely be dining at a restaurant on Smith St with Kyle and then maybe take in a movie, if anyone would like to join. I will likely be talking about how angry I am that I/we have to bail out delusional homeowners and pay for Wall Street's fuck-ups. Kyle will likely be talking about Palin. We'll be making it an early night to prepare for a day of football tomorrow.
It's too much to process. How can this election still be a contest? EVERYTHING the repubs hold true has just been proven to be a lie. All that stuff about smaller government... and free markets and capitalism and privatization... yeah, right up until you screw everything up, and then suddenly big government is your best friend. Meanwhile the repub candidate doesn't know where Spain is. And we still have to worry that we might lose? Seriously??
Change in plans for Sunday night. We are rerouting this to Brekke's house to bbq and watch the Emmys! Come whenever you'd like - Emmys start at 8.
